    Exhibit Details and Entry Procedure
Reclaiming Nature
TFAM 2026 Exhibit
The sustainable practice of reclaiming garments, fibres and fabrics into artwork, serves as a connection between human-made and natural elements.
Reclaiming nature … renewal, restoration, re-wilding, enabling the natural processes to restore land and sea. Repairing damaged ecosystems, creating a natural rhythm. Reclaiming abandoned places. Reusing and recycling objects, and materials. Re-imagining city spaces.

What does reclaiming nature mean to you? Nostalgia? Memories? Environmental concern? Transformation? What emotions, thoughts and images are evoked in regards to nature reclaimed?

In a society where fast fashion has become the norm, our goal is to create an exhibit that focuses on what is already available. Repurposed materials that were destined for the landfill, the thrifted, something you own that is very worn, a piece of fabric from your own stash, or something handed down.
We encourage you to use at least 50% reclaimed fabric/materials on your art piece. Natural fibres are encouraged including embellishments such as ribbon, braid, lace, cheesecloth, buttons, twine, paint, embroidery, etc.
NOTE: Reclaiming Nature is opening at Quilt Canada in Winnipeg June 2026, therefore the Intent and Entry deadlines are earlier than usual. There is a possibility that any pieces received after May 15 may not be included in the exhibit at Quilt Canada.
Intent to Enter open until March 31, 2026
