Information about submitting an entry into a TFAM exhibit
Steps:
Complete the Intent to Enter.
The deadline is April 30, 20xx. Galleries require certain information to book shows; the intent to enter provides us with the ability to send out show proposals and book galleries. Without the appropriate information we cannot offer an exhibition. Galleries are often booking 2 years in advance.
*If you want to enter but the entry fee is a hardship during this pandemic, please contact TFAM; we can offer some options.
2. Now that you have committed to entering the exhibit, you have until the Entry deadline to create.
3. Complete your entry form. There will be a deadline on the Exhibit Details page. Once your artwork is complete and you have taken some great pictures of it, fill in the Entry form. You will be asked for a title along with a brief Artist Statement (usually 50 words) to tell the viewer a bit about the inspiration for your art. You may also be asked what techniques and materials you used. The form will also ask you to submit one or two images of your submission.
PHOTOS: a particular exhibit may ask for multiple images or a particular type of image. Most exhibits will ask for 2 images. One showing all edges and one cropped to show the artwork only, no background. All images should be minimum 2 MB and maximum 10 MB in file size. Always rename your image file before sending. The standard is "Artist last-name first-name_Artwork title_Year.jpg " (example: Carlson Yvonne_Surprised by Joy_2020.jpg)
4. TFAM needs a short bio for all members but especially for those entering exhibits. These will also be used in the gallery proposals. If you did not submit one when you joined, please take the time to do so now. Go to the 'Update my Information' page, type it in and click 'Submit'. Just a few words to tell us about yourself, the fibre artist.
