Instructor: Krista Zeghers
Krista Zeghers is an artist who loves artwork where the image is recognizable to the viewer, but has something unique and special about it. There could be a change of scale, a different colour scheme, a close-up of a small section, a repeated pattern or shape; any element that makes the work come alive and provides interest. Krista feels art needs to intrigue the viewer, make them want to look closer and spend time with the piece. https://kristazeg.wixsite.com/fibreartist Instructor: Susan Selby
Susan’s art begins in the dye bath as she mixes and creates her own colours on plain white and repurposed fabrics & cheesecloth. Additions of more dye, paint and ink add to the individuality of the fabrics she works with. Each of her artworks is composed of layers of these fabrics with a great deal of stitching. Her inspiration comes from the world around her, most often the ever-changing Canadian prairie landscape. Her hope is to share the joy and beauty of the scenes she has chosen to interpret in fibre. Instructor – Elaine Filyk:
Elaine is a graduate Interior Designer. Art is her passion and textiles are her medium. Her works are a reflection of art, architecture, colour and texture. She is constantly learning, experimenting and perfecting new techniques. Her creations are an amalgam of living on the tree-lined streets of Winnipeg, Whiteshell Provincial Park and the Arizona desert as well as the experiences of world travel. Assistant Instructor – Yvonne Carlson:
Yvonne is a teacher, quilter and fibre artist. Her art is inspired by the beautiful prairie around us and by her travels. Yvonne currently has artwork touring with FAN (Fibre Art Network), with TFAM and was in the 2018 Quilt Canada Show and the Grand National Quilt Exhibition in 2019 and 2021. Yvonne’s favourite thing next to learningnew techniques is teaching quilting and fibre art. Guest Speaker: Tamara Klassen
